We’re excited to announce the launch of our CRM property filter. This powerful new functionality enables Dreamdata Team, Business and Enterprise plan customers to filter directly on all the properties from their contacts, companies and opportunities - both on the Dreamdata app and in BigQuery exports!

This gives customers a much higher degree of control over the custom objects they can run through our analytics.

Whether it’s Sales regions, subscription plans, additional firmographic categories, or churn status, with our CRM property filter you can now generate advanced reports on all your unique properties.

In this post, we’re introducing the CRM filter, and covering 6 use cases existing customers have been able to perform with the CRM property filter!

CRM properties

Your CRM Contact, Company and Deal records contain properties on everything you know about your leads, opportunities, and customers. Much of this record data includes basic details like names and contact numbers which are available out-of-the-box on your CRM.

However, there are times when you need information that doesn't fit into these conventional categories. So, where should this unique information go?

CRMs such as HubSpot and Salesforce offer a custom property/ fields function for this purpose. In fact, these customisations are essential for adapting the CRM to your business’s particular demands. They are designed to allow you to register distinctive business data, such as unique Sales geographic regions, firmographics, or lead status (say, whether they’re part of an ABM campaign), into custom fields.

Once created, these custom properties are accessible on every contact, company or deal entry in your CRM.

Not already using custom properties on your CRM, here are a couple of guides to help you customise your CRM. 👇

Including these properties in your CRM, although powerful, is just part of the way. Being able to run analytics and attribution on these properties makes them even more powerful to the end-user.

This is exactly why we’ve launched this feature. In fact, this has been a demand-driven product release, with the majority of customers requesting this functionality (we’re including 6 real examples below).

Dreamdata CRM filters: Build analytics reports on the CRM properties

The new CRM filters give Dreamdata users far greater control over their reporting, by unlocking all the Contact, Company, and Opportunity properties in their CRM.

All dashboards will now have these filters available, meaning you can run all of Dreamdata’s reporting, from Revenue Analytics to Content Analytics and Performance Attribution with these properties.

And from this, report on any of your CRM properties. Whether that’s the channels impacting your different pricing/ subscription plans, the campaigns influencing your unique key persona, organic performance on your unique sales regions, or identifying whether your ABM target audience is engaging with your ads.

Note, however, that the filter availability varies depending on the report being run. That is, not all reports support all options as a report focusing only on companies and deals (such as the Journeys-Companies report) will not offer the option to filter by contact properties.

What’s more, the properties will be automatically available on all Stage Models. Meaning you can run reports across all pipeline stages.

6 CRM filters use cases

CRM properties are, by definition, unique to your business needs. So use cases on the reporting side of things will depend on whatever properties you’ve decided to add to your CRM. But here is a list of 6 examples from existing Dreamdata customers to illustrate the versatility of the release:

1. My sales team is organised into unique language regions, which we have set as custom fields. Can I report on those regions?

Yes. With Dreamdata’s CRM filters, this customer can now track the performance of their activities on these regions.

2. Our deals have a product group property called ‘Plan’ with Free, Standard, Essential and Premium values. Can I report on those groups?

Yes. This customer is now able to filter out the most and least valuable product plans they offer.

3. We have categorised companies with lots of additional firmographics, can we report on those?

Yes. This customer’s need for running reports on specific firmographic details can now be fulfilled, enabling them to pinpoint their activities’ impact on their very narrow ICP definition.

4. We have added a company status called “churn_status”, can we report on that?

Yes. This company added a churn status property to be able to filter out all those previously churned customers re-engaging with the brand.

5. Can I report on my ABM target audiences?

Yes. This customer can now filter out companies that are not on their ABM target audience to see whether their campaigns have actually had the desired impact.

6. We added a detailed job function property at Contact level, can I run your Journeys reporting on this?

Yes. Thanks to the CRM property filter, this customer is now able to build target audiences on their unique roles.
